And honestly, it was worth every penny for me. I hope that this happy little rant might convince someone whose on the fence to go and pick this up. Yes, Demon's Souls is definitely the benchmark right now for what the Ps5 can do at the beginning of its life cycle, but there's just something so unique and beautiful about the world that The Pathless gives us. Plus, and I say this without a shadow of a doubt, this is one of the most aesthetically beautiful games that I've ever played. As someone who tries my best to play smaller indie titles, or games that aren't just about mowing down enemies, this was an utter treat and a game I think a hell of a lot of people are going to sleep on. PS5 The Pathless R1 From the creators of ABZ, The Pathless is the mythic adventure of an archer and an eagle in a vast forest. For a game that, at least on the surface, has some pretty simple mechanics and a simple premise of go to this area, solve some puzzles, climb the towers and fight the boss, I was not for a moment expecting the absolute emotional rollercoaster that this game gave me. I think someone else here mentioned the amazing Soundtrack by Austin Wintory, and I honestly think that this is some of his best work to date.
Before playing it I would have said FF7Remake, but there was just something so damn special and unique with The Pathless that I don't often get with modern games. Okay so I know this thread is a little older but I just wanted to come and say that after finishing the Pathless, I can honestly say that it was my favourite game from last year.
